Bishkek: The National Nomad Games will be held every two years, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Azamat Jamankulov told a media conference.

The decision to hold the game biennially was attributed to the need for oblasts (provinces) to be well prepared for them, Kabar news agency reported.

The latest games were held last week. The sporting competitions began on September 16 and ended on September 21 whereas the cultural events started on September 19. The closing ceremony was held on September 21.

“All the events were held at a high level and the accredited representatives of embassies in the Kyrgyz Republic and the media were present,” Jamankulov was quoted as saying.

The next National Nomad Games will be held in Osh in 2021.
