Nur Sultan: Kazakhstan has waived visa requirements for visitors from nine Asian countries as the Central Asian country is moving ahead with a drive to increase the number of foreign investors, business people and tourists.

The Asians are among citizens of 12 countries that have been recently added to the visa-free entry regime by the Kazakh government.

“Twelve countries have been included in the list: Bahrain, Vatican, Vietnam, Indonesia, Qatar, Colombia, Kuwait, Liechtenstein, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and the Philippines,” Foreign Ministry representative Aybek Smadiyarov said.

“The resolution provides for the right to visa-free entry/exit for citizens of these countries if the period of their stay in Kazakhstan does not exceed 30 calendar days from the moment of crossing the state border of Kazakhstan.”

Since January 2017, citizens of 45 countries have the right to visa-free entry to Kazakhstan for up to 30 calendar days.

Smadiyarov told the local media that the visa free regime aims at increasing the number of foreign investors, business people and tourists.

The simplification of the visa regime will contribute to the creation of a favourable investment climate in Kazakhstan, he added.
