Israel Builds Separating Wall on Borders With Lebanon

MARJEYOUN, June 9 (Xinhua) — Israel has completed the construction of a separating wall on the borders with Lebanon over the past 24 hours, aiming at preventing any direct confrontation between Israeli soldiers and Lebanese civilians, Lebanese security sources told Xinhua on Saturday.

The sources said that Israeli construction teams spent more than a month to build this wall which stands seven meters high with a total length of 1200 meters.

The last phase of construction was completed on Saturday, after installing sophisticated alarm systems and sensors.

The sources added that Israeli Army set along the wall a 12- meter pole with video cameras to monitor the Lebanese side of the border.

For its part, the Lebanese army also intensified patrols in the area. <Xinhua>
