China, DPRK mark 51st anniversary of milestone treaty

BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) — Senior political advisor Bai Lichen on Monday attended a celebration banquet to mark the 51st anniversary of signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between China and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

The banquet was hosted by Ji Jae Ryong, DPRK ambassador to China, at the DPRK’s embassy in Beijing.

Bai is the vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China’s top political advisory body.
