First comments I read in Arabic,on the death of Samsung Electronics Chairman; Mr. Lee Kun-hee, showed that he was the man behind revolutions.

If we speak of Arab region, it is clear how every house, and each citizen might be expressing easily their own experiences with some products with the label “Samsung” printed or engraved on them.

For the last two decades, two industrial sectors in South Korea changed the image of that being a Korean product is equal to be cheaper or less qualified; cars and home appliances.

Now, we could easily see how such Korean products in those two fields are all around us, in streets and homes, even in the Gulf region, where money is not the problem to get more expensive products.

Samsung made the miracle of being cheaper is not equivalent to be less in quality. In fact, for Samsung Electronics, the trade mark has become the fashionable face of rapidly changing technology.

Sponsoring high level world sport events, teams and players was another face of Samsung seen by millions. Even, and for a political reason, I guess, many Middle Eastern were sincere fans of Samsung against Apple, during the cases issued in the United States and Europe, regarding the two companies race to advance, as if it is a wave against US in favor of the Republic of Korea!

I could easily say that the man who said in 1993 “Change everything except your wife and kids”, did not change the home products alone, but he changed the world, as well.

His Samsung Electronics’ smart phones were behind the Arab Spring revolutions, as millions of protesters used them to easily connect the streets with media broadcasters.

Now, these smart phones are leading the change in societies via social media. With a Galaxy tab range in hand, people own the power of a TV station that could emotionalize for another revolutionary change, thanks to Mr. Lee Kun-hee, who was behind the revolutions of industry and technology, as well.
