Strategic partnership solidifies between Egypt and China

It’s expected that negotiations between Egypt’s president Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and China’s president Xi Jinping would start during Al-Sisi’s visit to China, attending China’s 70’s anniversary of World War II victory.

According to Alaa Youssef, the spokesperson of Egypt’s presidency, the two leaders would discuss the ways possible to strengthen the Chinese-Egyptian relations, for it to be considered “Strategic Partnership”, their talks would include the Chinese projects in Egypt, fighting terrorism and international situation, as well as the expected visit of China’s president to Egypt, later this year.

After the discussion, there are two agreements ready to be signed, the first is about the projects that China constructs and finances in Egypt, and the other is about the loan that Egypt’s Ahli Bank would receive from China’s Development Bank of about 100 million dollars, to finance small businesses, which is the second loan in two years.

Al-Sisi is expected as well to meet with China’s prime minister, Li Keqiang, to discuss how both countries will help in benefiting the other, as well as meeting with 25 presidents of companies and banks in China whom have several investments in Egypt to talk about big projects in Egypt, among them is the new Suez Canal.
