The 2015 President’s cup 2015 was opened with a ceremonial celebration in Incheon, the first Asian stop for this golf event that’s held every two years.

President Park Geun Hye attended the ceremony held in Jack Nicklaus Golf Club as the honorary president of the competition, joined by the former US president George Bush.

Park expressed her wish that the players would perform greatly this year, as golf plays a vital role in economy. She also expects that golf is going to flourish after adding it to the Olympics of 2016 held in Rio de Janiro.

President’s Cup initially began in 1994 as a competition between The United States team and a non-European team, each team including 12 players.

The United states won 8 out of 10 cups till now, with a tie in 2003, and the only international win being in 1998.
