Business delegation of Kazakhstan refused to go to Armenia

NISI20151025_0006051226The business delegation from Kazakhstan didn’t participate to “Invest Armenia-2016” forum.

The forum of “Invest Armenia-2016” was held in Yerevan on April 22 by the participation of 250 entrepreneurs from different countries. But the delegation of Kazakhstan refused to attend the forum a short time ago.

Arsen Ghazaryan, chairman of Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia, told “Kazakh large delegation will not arrive, and it is a pity. Well, they are citizens of a totalitarian country. Even the first words of command from above are enough for them to refuse the invitation. They explained that they had to refuse to take part in the forum due to security considerations — not personal, but regional. Well, that’s up to them, whereas we will continue to work on strengthening our economy,” News.am reported.

Previously Kazakhstan has offered to change the place for the meeting of Eurasian Economic Union which was planned to hold in Armenia on April 13. Karim Masimov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan has declared not to attend the meeting in Yerevan and proposed another place. His proposal was accepted by Russia.

Some analysts argue that Kazakhstan changes its position to support Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and these attitudes are acceptable for Kazakhstan and some argue that the current conflict in the Caucasus and security concerns shared as the main reasons.
