One of the main NYE events is the Bosingak Watch-Night bell ceremony, where locals, as well as celebrities, head to Jongno to see this amazing event. Olympic Park is also a popular place where the crowd gathers between friends or family to enjoy the New Year’s Eve with food, music, and entertainment before watching the fireworks at midnight. Night Life for New Years
Now after some of the cultural events, you might want to experience the nightlife in Seoul. Here are some suggestions and my favorite places that I have been to here in Seoul. Starting with Hongdae, which is my absolute favorite district in Seoul. It is is a neighborhood known for its youthful, underground culture and freedom of self-expression. I myself am a huge fan of HipHop music and in my believe that Hongdae has the best hip-hop clubs in Seoul. So if you would like to go to some nightlife places in Hongdae here are my top 5 hip hop clubs that I would recommend going to for New Years are listed down below.

Secret Society is an underground hip-hop club in Hongdae, that is usually surrounded by underground hip-hop artists. For the New Year’s Eve Secret Society is has ‘A $exy New Year’ theme, which is hosted by $exy $treet. There will be special performances during the night with some of the biggest hip hop rappers in Korea like Cjamm, Flash Bang,The Genius Nochang amongst some other artists. The bar opens 8pm and the party starts at 10pm. There is no cover before 10pm and it costs ₩ 10,000 after 10pm .

Henz Club is one of the hottest clubs in Seoul. The club is filled with people who have great fashion sense as well as great music sense. Henz has some of the best DJ crews like Deadend Movement, Back N Forth, 360 Sounds and Dipcoin would be spinning there.

BrandNu is also one of the hottest hip-hop clubs in Seoul. They always have hot DJ’s spinnin tracks all night and an amazing crowd with a lot of hype surrounding the space. The entrance fee for the New Year’s Eve party is 15,000₩ with free drinks all night! Can’t beat that right? I bet that the club is one of the hottest places to go to for the New Years in Hongdae.

Club Brown is based on Old School vibes as well as the stereo at Brown blasts hip-hop most of the time. Because of its signature laid back vibe, a lot of well-known rappers and dancers often swing by, and so do their fans. The space is quite cramped, and the venue fills to its maximum capacity over weekends, especially after the second round hours of 2 am. I believe this would be also one of the most popular places to for New Year’s Eve, so if you end up there, embrace yourself for some good music and some great time.

NB2 is one of those places that for anyone who’s ever spent time living in Seoul; you have to have somehow ended up there at least once. Turns out the beloved club was the first club in Hongdae and was established back in 1999, which was the beginning of the Hongdae Club craze. It is one of the representative hip-hop clubs in Korea, as well as it is operated by YG entertainment. The club plays to a lot of different music genres, however, the core music genre would be hip-hop. The club plays hip-hop from the 90’s as well as some of the recent hip-hop hits are mixed with the occasional electronic hip-hop beats you find common now and even some hits from the top 40 pop tracks I believe that this club will be so full for the New Year’s Eve, so probably you would have to wait in line for it, however I am sure after the wait you will have an amazing time.

Now I am sure you can definitely find other great nightlife places in other regions in Seoul like Gangnam, Itaewon as well Apgujeong, however, these were some of the places I have been to and very much enjoyed and am positively sure that I would go for some of these for New Year’s Eve as well. So if you wind up to one of these places, don’t hesitate and comment below on how you have enjoyed it there. Happy holidays and have a Happy New Year!
