Fornasetti : Practical Madness Exhibition

1In 2013, for the occasion of the 100th anniversary of artist Piero Fornasetti’s birth, the Triennale Design Museum in Milan organized the exhibition, “Practical Madness.” The exhibition began to tour internationally in 2015 and its arrival in Seoul marks the first-ever showcase of Fornasetti in Asia. Triennale Design Museum decided to pay tribute to Fornasetti to underscore the artist’s role and to present a new and accurate reading of his work in the context of the critical and theoretical debate on ornament as a structural element of design. In 2015, this exhibition travelled with great success to Paris in the majestic spaces of the Decorative Arts Museum. The Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul houses the first Asian stopover of “Fornasetti Practical Madness” show in the Exhibition Hall until 19th March 2017.

The exhibition will take place at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) and it includes over 1,300 pieces. The pieces were selected by Barnaba Fornasetti himself, an artist in his own right and the son of Piero Fornasetti. Piero Fornasetti’s work spans across different mediums, from designs and drawings, to sculptures and painting.
