Railway line of Azerbaijani and Iranian Astara to start operating in March

06-baku-page-oneChairman of CJSC Azerbaijani Railways (ADY) Javid Gurbanov has received Said Mohammadzade, Deputy Minister of Roads & Urban Development of Iran and President of Iranian Railways, abc.az reports.

ADY reports that during the meeting the parties discussed progress of the construction of a railroad between Azerbaijani and Iranian Astara, the development of terminal Astara and the execution of works on creation of international transport corridor North-South.

“During the meeting the Iranian Minister stated that the railway line in Astara will be commissioned in March, and the work on the Iranian side have been fastened. As part of the work it will constructed a passenger station and a terminal for cargo transshipment,” ADY informed. (Vestnik Kavkaza)
