Sri Lankan People Protest Against Recent Beheading Of A Sri Lankan Maid By Saudi Arabia

Sri Lankan Buddhist monks march towards the president’s residence demanding authorities to stop sending Sri Lankan women as maids to the Middle East following the recent beheading of a Sri Lankan maid by Saudi Arabia, during a protest in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013. Earlier this month Rizana Nafeek, a Sri Lankan domestic worker accused of killing a Saudi baby in her care in 2005 was given a death sentence and executed, despite appeals by the Sri Lanka government for a reprieve.
