“Venice of the East” – World’s largest water village in Brunei

Photo taken on April 24, 2013 shows a mosque in the Water Village in Brunei’s capital city Bandar Seri Begawan. Dubbed as Venice of the East and situated along the Brunei River, Kampong Ayer is the world’s largest water village, sheltering about 30,000 inhabitants. It covers an area of 2.6 square kilo-meters and consists of 10 villages whose building are constructed on the Brunei River.
