Famous philosopher Alain de Botton participates in 2015 Cheongju International craft Biennale as an art director, introducing a special project. His special project titled “Beauty and Happiness” aims to discover the value of letters in our daily life.

According to organizers, it’ll include 49 works resulted from cooperation between Botton and 15 teams of Korean artists through a year and a half.

The works are to be exhibited with short writings by Botton about each one.

The British philosopher tries to introduce 15 words in anew way after discussions with the artists, words like nature, hope, power are among others in the project. Through workshops and discussions, artists had a mission to create works of how they envision these words.

The process is to be documented in an artistic book. The book is set to include interviews with artists and their opinions on words chosen.

2015 Cheongju International craft Biennale is set to continue until 25 October in Cheongju province.
