Elderly human rights conference held in Seoul

Elderly human rights conference is expected to be held in Asian and European Summit, taking place in Westin Chosun in Seoul starting from 26th of October for three days.

This conference will be supervised by Human Rights National Committee and Korean Ministry of External Affairs, and over 140 participants from 45 countries will take part in the conference. The participants also include officials from the countries participating in International organizations summit as well as human rights advocates. They aim to find ways to reinforce elderly human rights.

This year’s conference won’t consider elderly’s welfare and charities alone, it will also tackle some basic human rights such as right of health, right of social security, right of protection from violence and social exclusion.

The Korean committee explained that this conference is going to be a big step in protecting elderly’s human rights; as being an opportunity in sharing regulations and mechanisms to protect elderly’s rights all over the world.
