KATHMANDU, Nepal (Xinhua) – Two days after the detection of bird flu in a poultry farm, the flu virus has been found in another farm in the same place in Lalitpur district in Nepali capital Kathmandu Valley. The farm has been sealed after the confirmation of the virus on Sunday.

The fresh detection came two days after 6000 chicken were slaughtered after the confirmation of the flu in the farm of Dhiren Gurung.

According to the Chief of the District Veterinary Office, Mogal Prasad Sah, the authorities swung into action after the chicken started dying regularly by sealing other nearby farms. The owner had complained of chicken dying regularly in the farm.

“We have deployed invigilators to search other places in the area for more cases,” Sah was quoted by The Kathmandu Post as saying. news@theasian.asia
