Chinese VP asks Bill Gates to have close cooperation with China

Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping met Wednesday (May 30) with Bill Gates, chairman of the Microsoft Corporation where Jinping called for closer cooperation between China and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

A statement from the Chinese government observed Jinping and Gates had discussed closer cooperation between China and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with regard to medical care, agriculture and technology.
Jinping had praised the Gates Foundation for their work in improving health and living conditions of human beings.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (B&MGF) was founded in 1994 and is based in Seattle, Washington. The foundation aims to improve healthcare and reduce poverty conditions worldwide while its goals in America are to enhance educational opportunities and access to information technology.

Vice President Jinping also applauded the Gates Foundation work in China and hoped for further cooperation between Chinese partners and the Gates Foundation the statement reported.
The statement detailed, “The two sides should make full use of various resources and channels to play an active role in improving the medical situation in China and other developing countries in the world.” Jinping further added relations between America and China were not only benefitting people of both nations but also world development and promoting peace.
According to the statement Bill Gates had agreed and noted importance of cooperation between the two. The foundation will work together with its Chinese partners to carry out the projects in China and contribute to disease prevention and control as well as health care, he promised. <Cihan>
