A horse race doping scandal in UAE leads to global ban on steroids

The doping scandal that led to the downfall of Godolphin trainer Mahmood al-Zarooni is now helping fuel a call for an outright ban on anabolic steroids in horse racing, it is revealed Thursday May 2, 2013, that the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, which includes the world’s top racing bodies, is expected to consider a global ban at its annual meeting in October 2013.
