Banned religious outfits’ properties frozen in Pakistan

Karachi: The government of Sindh province of Pakistan has frozen 65 properties of four banned religious organizations under UNSC Act 1948 and UNSC Freezing & Seizure Order 2019.

The proncial Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in KArachi on Wednesday told an American delegation comprising US Congressmen Mr Jim Himes, Mr Sean Patrick Maloney, who is also Member of the House Permanente Select Committee on Intelligence, Consul General of USA Robert Silberstein, Deputy Consul General Mr Darian Arky, Ms Amanda Rogers Thrope, Mr Aaron Thurman, Ms Lisa Major, Mr neil Philips and Mr Saleh Shah.

The chief minister said that 59 properties of Jamat-ud-dawa, Falah-e-Insanyat Foundation and Jaishe Mohammad and six properties of Tahreek-i-Taliban Afghanistan have been seized under UNSC Act 1948 and UNSC Freezing & Seizure Order 2019.
Mr Shah however said that the existence of any proscribed organization in Sindh province has not been traced therefore no arrest or prosecution of any individual in connection has been made.

Talking about Terror Finance related cases, Murad said that 47 [Terror Financing] cases have been registered and were being investigated by the Counter Terrorism Department of Sindh police.

The delegation appreciated the efforts made by the government to control terror financing.
