Hu Jintao’s New Year Message for Both Korean Leaders

 

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Korean diplomatic relations and the leaders of both countries exchanged congratulatory messages.

President Lee Myung-bak said to his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao, “Based on the achievements for the past 20 years, let us pave the way for a brighter future for both Korea and China.”

President Hu Jintao said to his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-bak, “The establishment of Sino-Korean relations has generated great advantages for both countries.” He also announced the start of the “China-South Korea Friendly Exchange Year”.

It is known that Mr Hu Jintao sent his congratulatory message to Kim Jong-un of North Korea on 31 December.

According to KCNA(Korean Central News Agency), Mr Hu Jintao said, “The long-standing mutual trust between two countries will be continued to strengthen.”
