Bomb Attack Targets Police Bus in Istanbul

Turkish police bus was targeted in a bomb attack on Tuesday morning in the central district of Istanbul, five people were wounded, CNN Turk reports.

The blast occurred at a busy place near to Istanbul University building during the morning rush hour. Several ambulances were sent to the scene. Nearby buildings and some vehicles were damaged.

There is no immediate responsibility claim, Reuters reported.

The terrorists of the PKK, have been targeting police and military targets since July 2015, when a fragile peace process collapsed. The Islamic State group has also been blamed for a series of deadly bombings in Turkey.

The PKK is terrorizing for autonomy in the southeast part of Turkey. It has waged a decades-long insurgency against the Turkish state in a conflict that has claimed 40,000 lives.
