A guide to experience skiing at budget price in Korea

People only living in four season countries have the privilege to experience this exciting sport. If you are living in a tropical country, then you will have to fly all the way to one of these countries to be able to experience Skiing.

For someone who never tried ski before, it could be exciting or could be scary. But the experience is worth the adrenaline.

Going outside to hangout and chill in a park or doing outdoor activity is not a convenient option during winter. If you get bored and want to do a new activity, Skiing is perfect outdoor activity.  Playing outside on the white carpet of snow breathing cold winter air made me hold my breath for a moment. I was awesome to see the scenery from the peak of the slope.

I went with my friends to Jisan Ski Resort for my first skiing experience recently.

We reserved seats for the free shuttle bus that the resort provided from Gwanghwamun to take us to the Jisan Ski Resort. It took around 75 minutes to take us there. The shuttle bus is available at 9 A.M. to Jisan and coming back to Seoul at 5 P.M.

Here is the website to reserve the shuttle bus http://www.jisanresort.co.kr/eng/index.html

Korea has several other ski resorts available in the country. But when you have limited time and budget, Jisan Ski Resort can be your best option. To play there, you will only need to pay for KRW 20,000 to rent the ski equipment for 4 hours.

If you have your parachute Jacket, pants and gloves, you are ready to go. But if you do not have them, you can rent it in the resort with KRW 10,000 for Jacket, KRW 10,000 for pants and you can buy the gloves for KRW 15,000 in the store inside the rental room.

It is all what you basically have to spend to enjoy your winter ski vacation. If you are beginner, I would recommend you not to pay for extra KRW 47,000 to rent the elevator since it is better for you you to practice and spend more time in the lower slopes. But you definitely have to go to the top at least once just to enjoy the sensation of the fast skiing in the steep and longer slope.

In Jisan Ski Resort, they have 4 different slopes for skiing, starting from the left side for beginner and to the right side of the mountain where the slopes is steeper and longer. It was so amazing to see people playing in the “more expert” areas. I could imagine the feeling might be like they were flying.

And do not worry about falling down while sliding on the slope because  the snow is actually sort of pillowy and it would not hurt that much. Enjoy the skiing experience and winter season!
