[Indonesia Report] President SBY visits London despite arrest threat

Despite of the threat from West Papua Independent organization’s leader Benny Wenda’s call for civil arrest of Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono upon his arrival in London, SBY left Indonesia Tuesday for London (October 30) to answer the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II.

According to Vivanews report, SBY is visiting Britain along with the first lady and their two sons.

SBY said that this visit to England is important therefore he brings strong delegation with him. He added, “It is especially significant on the ASEM summit meeting”, SBY told journalists before entering the airplane.

Head of Indonesian House of Representative, Head of Local House Representative and Head of National Economy Committee were on the delegation.

In England, President SBY is scheduled for a set of state official duties and to attend the summit on reformulation on the MDGs concept changing.

President SBY is also going to receive the “Knight Grand Cross of The Order of Bath” from Queen Elizabeth II.

The honorable title would directly given by Queen Elizabeth II during SBY visit to England on Oct. 30 – Nov. 3, 2012.

Presidential Special Staff on International Relations Teuku Faizasyah said that other foreign leaders who has received such honorable title are US Former President Ronald Reagan, France President Jaques Chirac and Turkey President Abdullah Gul.
